heyi = hey,

sana = baby,

u = you,

ya = are (ya is positive form present tense marker),

ndi = I,

hlek = laugh,

isa = making / causing to.

 

STRUCTURES:

The -isa ending has a causative meaning. Other examples:

funda = learn,

fundisa = teach (cause to learn),

thenga = buy,

thengisa = sell (cause to buy).

 

PRONUNCIATION:

The HL sound is made when air passes by the sides of the tongue. (It helps to have a bit of saliva too!)
