Football Starved Capetonians Celebrate Football Friday with the ABSA Premiership Double Header. The event hosted by the CoCT to thank Capetonians for the very successful FIFA World Cup will see fans supporting no less than four teams. Vasco da Gama fans should purchase tickets on the South East of the stadium. Ajax CPT fans should purchase tickets on the North East of the stadium. The event in appreciation  of the Cape Town World Cup supporters, volunteers, transport operators, emergency personnel, fan-park revelers who made a memorable World Cup. This will see Capetonians who weren’t able to attend any of the games at the stadium supporting their local teams.

Chips are Down for South African Online Gambling

North Gauteng High Court handed down a ruling on August 20th by Judge NB Tuchten. making it illegal to gamble using digital products inside South Africa.  Carrying advertising promoting online gambling has also been made illegal. 
The Gauteng Gambling Board has been in a long-running battle with online casino. Online casinos and poker rooms are less than pleased and seem to doubt whether the ban will achieve its aims, according to Online-Casinos.com.
Gauteng Gambling Board head of legal services, Lucky Lukhwareni has said that , online casinos are now up for prosecution.

Lew Saul Koor , Piggs Peak Operations Director has stated that 

"On consultation with our Senior Legal Council they agree that we

should appeal this finding which we believe is totally incorrect.
Until the appeal has been heard and the outcome determined our
business will continue as usual as agreed with the Gambling Boards."

Google adds Linux support to voice and video chat

Google has announced that it has officially added Linux support to its online voice and video chat service. Originally introduced in November of 2008, Google voice and video chat uses a free downloadable plug-in and various Internet standards, including XMPP, RTP, and H.264. The service allows users to initiate a video chat with high-quality audio directly from within Gmail, iGoogle and the company's Orkut social networking site – one of the most visited sites from Brazil and India.

According to a post on the Official Gmail Blog by Google Software Engineer Tristan Schmelcher, support for Linux was the developers "top video chat request". Voice and video chat for Linux currently supports Ubuntu and other Debian-based distributions. Reportedly, RPM support is coming soon.

Linux users can download the plug-in from gmail.com/videochat.
